viola profonda
Submitted by surfinbela on Tue, 2012-01-03 14:13.Some weeks ago I wrote a version of a "Dodecats"- duo (viola & cello) for an uncommon string quartet: violin, viola, baritone violin, cello.
My baritone violin is a normal traditional violin strung with octave strings. Normally I'm playing it electrically, because the small body doesn't transport the deep frequencies well.
Octave strings
Submitted by surfinbela on Sat, 2008-08-02 11:51.I just read a question about octavers for electric violin here. So here are my impressions and decision.
Some years ago I tried various octavers and was not satisfied - the octaved sound had nothing to do with the original, it was synth- like and dead and technically the sound was fluttering: the units didn't get glissandi (slides).

Features:
• A two-piece electromagnetic humbucking pickup.
• Freely adjustable.
• Allows adjustment to the individuallities of the instrument like form of bridge and position of strings.
• Very low risk of feedbacks (means: sympathetic feedback like on electric guitar - absolutely no nasty piezo feedbacks).
May I present myself ...
