A father request: Ideas for an EV for my twelve years old boy?

I am the father of a 12 years boy who plays violin and like to start with rock and jazz music with an EV.

I think that the first requirement is lightness. Second a reasonable prize (for me 500 Euros) and, possibly an aggressive sound (what’s my son likes now, off course).

Could you please advise me? I am open to buy second hand.

Violin

My first EV was the Yamaha 110 or the yamaha SV 120 as it is currently called.
I woulfd certainly recommend this model and maker to your son.

You can't go wrong with Zeta of course. If he wants the sound to be "aggressive" he has several options from turning up the gain on the amp or using a distortion or fuzz effect

The Stingray SV-4 is a great

The Stingray SV-4 is a great introduction for someone starting out on the electric. For approximately 560 Euros, you could grab the entire package, with the violin, dedicated electric violin amplifier, and a wah-wah pedal just for the electric violin. All of this designed and brought out by Electric Violinist Mark Wood.

I got this package for my 14 yr old daughter and it has worked out great! I also love the idea that these violins are designed and produced by a company dedicated only to violins.
