I'm a total newbie at playing and i was thinking whether you need to know to play a acoustic before you can play electric violin? I heard it's easier to play electric if you learn acoustic. Are they the same?
experience
I bought an electric before an acoustic & dont find electric harder to play, despite what some reckon.. I get a better sound from the G string on my electric than i can from any acoustic ive played. I find the instruments pretty much the same. A teacher may well raise her/his eyebrows if you turn up to learn with an electric but it shouldnt deter you from learning to play

You should most definitely
You should most definitely learn to play a regular violin first - If you know how to get a good tone out of an acoustic violin, then playing an electric will be a lot easier and you'll sound a lot better.
