octave effect

does anyone know a good octave effect for electric violin?
i have been trying a Boss OC3 which plays one or two octaves below the inputand this works well in the lower register but cuts out when playing higher than the E string.

Do all octave effects do this? Are there effects designed for electric violin?

Thanks

Electro Harmonix Micro POG

I use it on my violin. It has 3 knobs: low, normal and high. They define the volume of 1-octave down, normal and 1 octave up.

Works and sounds great.

I use a Line6 PODxt

I use a Line6 PODxt live.....there is a harmonizer built in that works all the way from my low C up (I have a 5 string)

Many thanks

Thanks for the original question and the two answers. I had almost decided to buy (or at least try) an OC3, but am now much more interested in the other two products named here. It looks to me as though the POD xt ought to do MUCH more than the micro POG for only a slightly higher price, which makes for an easy decision unless the POG does a hugely better job of octaving down. Does anyone have an informed opinion on that point?

EBS Octabass

My cello duo partner and I we're playing EBS Octabass pedals. Reacts nicely playing singlenotes. Weak on doublestops!
